Budwig – Flax seed Oil and Quark or Cottage Cheese

Budwig – Flax seed Oil and Quark or Cottage Cheese

Prominent researcher Dr Joanna Budwig who was a world expert in the metabolism of fats and oils wrote a number of books recording her research and her personal experience with very many clients. Joanna Budwig’s protocol was best known for her work in treating people with cancer, although she worked with many other disease manifestations.

Her book ‘Flax Oil as a  true aid against Arthritis, Heart Infarctions, Cancer and other Diseases’ is a relatively easy but very worthwhile read.

Dr Joanna Budwig was a seven time Nobel Prize Nominee as a renowned scientist and biochemist. However her research was probably too controversial for her to receive a Nobel Prize. If her ideas had been accepted they would no doubt have revolutionised a whole industry.

At the centre of her protocol was her blend of protein and flax seed oil. Dr Budwig was a great believer in flax seed oil and the solar power that was contained in the seeds. However she understood for flax seed oil to be metabolised most effectively it needed to be linked to a sulphur based protein. That is why she encouraged the use of flax seed oil combined with quark or cottage cheese.

Variations on the Flax Seed Oil and Quark Cream

There are a number of different ways you can take this combination. The following are a guide:

Salad Dressing - You can add a tablespoon of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to the standard cream and if desired a clove of garlic and a pinch of cayenne pepper.

Fruit Desert – Add a tablespoon of fruit (blueberries, strawberries, pineapple or dried figs) to the standard cream and if required mix in a little honey.

Desert Cream – Add up to 3 teaspoons of honey to the standard cream.

Ice cream - Blend the standard cream with ground flax seeds, fruit and honey prior to freezing.

Flax Seed Oil – Choose with care oil that retains its vital energy.

As an alternative to flax seed oil you can use hemp seed oil, which can be better tasting. Of course the most important aspect is to ensure you are using the best quality organic cold pressed oil. Oil which has been manufactured, packaged and stored with care to ensure it retains its vital energy.
