The Energy Plus LITE does not remove hardness from water. However, by restructuring the water, it may help the issues typically associated with hardness become less of a problem.

Filter 1: Contaminant Absorption Block
The first filter uses an activated carbon absorption block combined with natural mineral blends to achieve high levels of contaminant removal. This includes fluoride, heavy metals such as lead, chlorine, chloramines, herbicides, pesticides, and hormonal and pharmaceutical residues. It also acts as an effective barrier against microplastics, which are an increasing concern in UK water supplies.

Filter 2: Energising Ceramic
The second filter uses ceramic ball filter media to improve the structure of the water and release small amounts of beneficial minerals as the water passes through.
Flow rate
The system is designed to run at 1.5 to 2 litres per minute. The inline valve supplied with the unit lets you set and adjust this during installation.
Size
The unit measures H35cm x W27cm x D14cm. It fits comfortably into a standard under sink kitchen unit without taking up much space at all.
Installation
The unit connects to the cold water feed only and must not be fitted to the hot water line. No tank or electrical supply is needed. Two connection options are included: a saddle valve for most standard installations, and a low pressure coupling for low pressure situations. Flushing the system
After installation, run water through the system for 5 minutes, wait an hour, then flush through again for another 5 minutes to clear any carbon dust. Fine bubbles in the water are normal to begin with and will settle down over the first few days.
Recycling the used filter cartridges
Filter 1 has to go in your general waste. The contents of filter 2 can go into your compost or garden waste bin, or be scattered on the garden. Rinse out the plastic outer casing and that can go in the plastic recycling too.

Q. Does the Energy Plus LITE soften the water?
A. No, it doesn't soften the water. The ceramics used in the filter are there to structure the water and enhance its mineral content, not to remove hardness. That said, many customers find that the issues typically associated with hard water are less noticeable after filtering.
Q. How frequently do I need to change the filter cartridge?
A. We recommend changing the cartridge once a year. It's rated to treat around 4,500 litres of water, which works out at roughly 12 litres per day, so for most households an annual change is about right.
Q. Does the Energy Plus LITE filter out fluoride?
A. Yes. It removes over 99% of fluoride, along with high levels of other common contaminants including heavy metals. The full contaminant removal chart is shown in the product images above.
Q. Does the filter reduce TDS?
A. TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids and measures the concentration of all dissolved substances in your water. Filtering generally won't reduce TDS, and a high or low reading doesn't tell you whether your water is healthy or not. It simply measures total mineral content. What matters is which minerals are present. The Energy Plus LITE removes harmful contaminants while retaining and enhancing the beneficial ones.
Q. What is the best way to test the pH of the filtered water?
A. Use a pH meter or a pH test colour reagent. pH test strips are not reliable for testing water accurately, despite what some may claim.
